Crab Catcher - M/V ARKTUR



It is a project that was carried out to convert a medium-tonnage fishing vessel into a trawler for the North-West Fishing Consortium, a non-profit partnership. The work was carried out at the Turkish shipyard in Yalova. On 30 March 2021, the ship was delivered to the customer.
The converted vessel is designed for catching crabs with trapezoidal and rectangular traps. The trawler is equipped with all the necessary equipment for catching, processing and storing crabs.
The features of the project are as follows:
-          The vessel is equipped with a large storage freezer.
-          Production capacity is 20 to 40 tons of frozen products per day depending on the type of crab being caught.
-          The trawler is equipped in such a way as to allow the products to be transferred at sea level up to 4 points.
-          The vessel is equipped with an electro-hydraulic crane with three independent arrows for working with traps.
-          Also on board there are two auxiliary rotating cargo cranes. They are designed for handling traps and unloading products.
-          The crab catching mechanism is equipped with a system for storing containers and salt.
-          Up to 40 crew members are accommodated on board the vessel. There are comfortable cabins. There is a self-service area and other necessary premises for enabling comfortable living.
